Andado to provide gas boost

The Andado Project, to be located roughly 250 km southeast of Alice Springs, would be the first aboveground coal-to-gas project to operate in Australia, and could supply up to 50 PJ/a to Australia’s east coast market.

The coal-to-gas process will use coal mined from the Pedirka Basin, which will then be converted to pipeline quality gas in an aboveground gasifier plant located next to the mine site.

Ebony has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GE to collaborate on the supply of gasification and plant technology.

A MoU has also been signed with OSD to develop and operate a pipeline that will connect the Andado plant to the Moomba gas hub.

The new pipeline proposed would follow the 670 km route already identified and surveyed by OSD as part of the Northern Territory Government’s North East Gas Interconnector bid.

While formal planning and approval processes are yet to be undertaken, Ebony is confident that OSD’s research into the route and feasibility is sound.

Ebony is currently seeking funds to undertake additional work at Andado and preparing for an ASX listing, planned for 2018.
