Coates Hire wins Chevron LNG contract

Coates Hire has won a rental services contract for all of Chevron's operational LNG assets in Western Australia.

The contract will see Coates establish a permanent presence at Chevron's Gorgon and natural gas plant sites, creating more than 20 new jobs in the process.

Coates previously provided earthmoving equipment during the construction phase of both the Gorgon and Wheatstone projects.

Marcus Geisler, Coates Hire business unit EGM, welcomed the win, saying vast investments are being made in the development of LNG and the increasing levels of gas being exported is ensuring Coates will expand its focus in this growing resource.

He went on to say the company will "continue to investor in our people along with new equipment designed for the rigours of remote operation and ensure all of our customers are better equipped".

Coates declined to give a valuation figure for the new contract.
