Cooper Sole-3 flow-back testing proves successful

The Sole-3 testing was undertaken over a 26 hour period on the 97 m completed section of the Top LaTrobe Group sandstone reservoir.

Cooper said the flow-back performance and gas composition were both consistent with pre-drill expectations.

Further analysis of data collected during the test confirmed Sole-3 has the capability to produce above the maximum plant throughput rate of 68 TJ/day under production conditions.

Cooper Energy Managing Director David Maxwell said the successful testing meant the project could move on to the next stage.

“We now have a well in place, ready to go, with production capability exceeding project requirements,”? he said.

“Reservoir quality, production, performance and the gas composition are all in line with pre-drill expectations.

“We now move on to resuming Sole-4 and completing the project’s drilling requirement.”?

The Sole gas field is located in the Gippsland Basin, offshore Victoria, and is currently under development in order to provide a new source of gas supply for southeast Australia.
