Cue Energy has announced that the West Mereenie 30 (WM30) development well is now online.
The well, according to Cue, is producing more than 4 terajoules a day (TJ/day), surpassing pre-drill expectations of 3 TJ/day.
The successful completion of WM30, the second and final well in the recent Mereenie drilling program, alongside the WM29 well, has increased total sales gas from the Mereenie field by approximately 9 TJ/day — which is well above the pre-drill forecast of 6 TJ/day.
With these results, the Mereenie field’s sales capacity now stands at 32 TJ/day.
The additional gas is being sold on an as-available basis to the Northern Territory market under recently executed Gas Sales Agreements.
Cue mentioned that Central Petroleum, the operator of the Mereenie field, delivered the two-well development program safely, on time, and within budget.
Cue Energy holds a 7.5 per cent interest in the Mereenie joint venture, with Echelon Resource (42.5 per cent), Horizon Oil (25 per cent), and Central Petroleum (operator) (25 per cent) as the other participants.
