Esso has submitted an environment plan to NOPSEMA relating to planned well works, including plug and abandonment activities, of up to nine wells on the Barracouta platform. Works will be completed by a jack-up rig (JUR).

Activities included in the scope of the plan include JUR positioning, plug and abandonment activities, workover activities, support vessels, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) activities and use of helicopters.

The operational areas for the purposes of the plan is defined by the 500m petroleum safety zones around the Barracouta platform.

The earliest date of commencement of JUR well work Barracouta is expected to be in Q4 2025 when the JUR completes previous activities. It is expected that the plug and abandonment and workover of up to nine wells will take approximately 120 days, dependent on weather, scheduling and operations performance.
