Triangle Energy has announced that its upcoming Becos-1 exploration gas well in the Perth Basin is nearing competition.

According to the company, the Becos-1 well will target a range in resources from a low case of one million barrels (MMbbl) to a high case of 21MMbbl with a best estimate of 5MMbbl, with a chance of success of 20 per cent.

Becos-1 falls under the EP 437 joint venture, which is owned by Triangle Energy (50 per cent), and subsidiaries of Strike Energy (25 per cent) and Echelon Resources (25 per cent).

The well is expected to be delivered by the end of December, with the drill rig to land on site at the end of March 2025.

“Triangle is pleased to share progress on the Becos-1 well pad and looks forward to spudding the well at the end of March 2025,” Triangle managing director Conrad Todd said.

“Triangle considers Becos a compelling target both in terms of the potential resource and the chance of success.”
