Gold Hydrogen gets going on SA hydrogen hunt

Gold Hydrogen to survey Kangaroo Island in March 2023.

Gold Hydrogen is following its $20 million entry to the ASX with heavy exploration into low carbon energy opportunities in South Australia.

Gold Hydrogen has scheduled a 18,200 line kilometre airborne gravity-magnetic survey in South Australia for March 2023. Over two stages, the non-invasive survey will target the Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island.

Once done, the survey will increase Gold’s understanding of the subsurface environment for licence area PEL 687, which has a best estimate prospective resource of 1.3 bill kg of natural hydrogen gas.

Non-invasive soil surveys are also planned in cooperation with the CSIRO in up to 100 locations, targeting areas where hydrogen can seep through the surface.

Chairman Alexander Downer said that the support the company has received so far has been humbling, following the $20 million in initial public offering when Gold listed on the ASX in January.

“We need real solutions to decarbonise in ways that keep the lights on, and innovators like Gold Hydrogen will be essential to those goals,” he said.
