South Australia has secured development approval for its Hydrogen Jobs Plan project.
Delivered by the Office of Hydrogen Power SA and its Early Contractor Involvement partners ATCO Australia, BOC, and Epic Energy, the project has now released civil works packages.
These work packages include works such as site establishment, clearing and grubbing, bulk earthworks, site fencing and signage, stormwater infrastructure, access roads and kerb and gutter installation.
“The approval of the Hydrogen Jobs Plan development application shows that not only are we delivering a world-leading renewable hydrogen facility in the Upper Spencer Gulf, but we are doing so in a manner that is safe and minimises any negative impact on the local environment and Whyalla community,” Minster for Energy and Mining Tom Koutsantonis said.
“The release of these work packages is a major step forward for the Hydrogen Jobs Plan, demonstrating how close we are to commencing construction on this ground-breaking facility.”
Expressions of interest close on Tuesday, 3 September 2024 and an industry open day is being held on Tuesday, 27 August 2024, with local contractors and businesses invited to speak about these opportunities.
Site works for the Hydrogen Jobs Plan are expected to begin in late 2024 in Whyalla.
