Hundreds of resource industry executives will attend Darwin Convention Centre on the 14-15 September for SEAAOC, recognised as a must-attend event on the calendar for Australia’s oil and gas executives. The 2016 program will offer latest project updates and examine how Australia’s industry can flourish in the face of current industry challenges.
What’s new for 2016?
Internationally renowned industry commentator, Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki, Founder and Chairman of FGE travels to Darwin to open SEAAOC proceedings with a keynote presentation that will set the scene on global oil and gas markets. Dr. Fesharaki’s work is well-recognized for pioneering oil and gas market analysis and studies of the Asia Pacific/Middle East energy markets since the early 1980s. His presentation “Oil and Gas Markets in Turmoil: Implications for Australia”? will examine the outlook for oil prices and direction of the oil markets, the evolution of supply and demand oil prices in the short, medium and long term, plus more.

A closer look at developments and opportunities for the Northern Territories’ onshore and offshore industries will be in focus for day two. A highlight will include an interactive panel discussion examining how the industry can take a more collaborative approach to working together in a high cost environment. Hosted by procurement and supply chain expert Mark Borowski of Deloitte Australia, he will be joined by Leon Smit, ConocoPhillips’ Manager Logistics & Material Management, Doug Macintyre, General Manager – Oil & Gas, Monadelphous and Owen Pike, General Manager, MMC Australia.

SEAAOC forms part of NT Resources Week, uniting three industry specific conferences around a major trade industry exhibition and five unique networking functions. Networking event highlights include the Official Welcome Reception supported by ConocoPhillips Australia, hosted at parliament house and the INPEX Gala Dinner on the beautiful lawns of SKYCITY Casino. NT Resources Week attendees are able join presentations across all three events: SEAAOC, Mining the Territory and Building the Territory.
The event is run in a partnership between the Northern Territory Government and Informa Australia and will be the first major opportunity for the industry to gather and discuss the implications for business and the region following the upcoming Northern Territory elections.
