Energy Dome has selected Melbourne as the site for its Asia-Pacific headquarters, marking a significant investment in Victoria’s renewable energy sector.

The energy technology company, known for its CO2 battery technology, provides long-duration energy storage solutions designed to support regions transitioning away from coal-fired power, which aligns with the current energy landscape in Australia.

The Victorian Government has welcomed Energy Dome’s decision, highlighting its potential to create jobs and contribute to the state’s clean energy transition.

“Energy Dome calling Victoria home will bring world leading technology to Melbourne, create more jobs for Victorians and contribute to our economic growth,” State Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs Danny Pearson said.

Energy Dome CEO Claudio Spadacini believes Victoria is an ideal base for expansion in the region.

“Energy Dome has identified critical advantages in establishing our APAC [Asia-Pacific] team in Victoria to lead the deployment of the CO2 battery, and the Victorian Government’s support will enable us to accelerate our expansion in the state,” Spadacini said.

Energy Dome is now working to identify potential locations across the state to house its storage systems.

Established in 2020, Energy Dome is nearing completion of its first full-scale CO2 battery plant in Sardinia, west of the Italian peninsula. The company has secured multiple commercial contracts for projects in the United States and India.
