Julimar EP accepted

APA Group Senex Energy

The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) has accepted Woodside Energy’s environmental plan (EP) for the Julimar field, offshore Western Australia.

Located 169km north-west of Dampier, the Julimar field production system includes wells in WA-49-L and pipelines in WA-26-PL and WA-29-PL.

Woodside Energy proposes to develop the Julimar development project phase 3 (JDP3) wells and subsea infrastructure, which will connect to the existing Julimar Field Production System.

This will involve the drilling of up to four wells in the Julimar field and one well in the Penfolds prospect, located in WA-49-L.

The JDP3 production system will have a design life of 25 years and will produce hydrocarbons from the Julimar and Penfolds reservoirs via the existing Phase 1 and 2 infrastructure and the third-party operated Wheatstone Platform and onshore LNG plant.

The Julimar Field production system commenced production in 2016 and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Woodside advised NOPSEMA that the Julimar and Brunello fields are predicted to remain active during the life of this EP, which is five years.

Under the EP, other contingent activities that Woodside may need to perform include well abandonment, re-spud, side-track and well suspension.
