LNG Ltd founder steps down

Mr Brand is the founder and former Managing Director of Chief Executive Officer of LNGL, and developed an innovative strategy to safely develop mid-scale LNG export terminals to link proven gas reserves with existing LNG buyers.

“Maurice is an icon of the LNG industry,”? said LNGL Board of Directors Chairman Richard Beresford.

“He recognised the cost challenges facing the industry and the virtues of the mid-scale, modular design configuration well ahead of any of his contemporaries.

“He focused on lowering capital cost, improving reliability, realising greater fuel efficiency, and the importance of minimising environmental impacts in developing LNGL’s strategic advantages, attributes that continue to benefit the company today.

“On behalf of the Board, we are grateful to Maurice for his vision and contribution as founder and Managing Director in developing the company to its current position, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”?

LNGL, via its subsidiary Gladstone LNG, has proposed to build two 1.5 MMt/a LNG trains, along with associated infrastructure, at Fisherman’s Landing in Gladstone, Queensland, though the nature of the gas supply for the project is still being determined by the company.
