MOU extended for Cooper

Emperor Energy has extended its memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cooper Energy, for the potential cooperation on utilising the Orbost gas processing plant.

The MOU is non-binding with the purpose of facilitating further discussions between the two companies for use of the Orbost gas processing plant, owned by Cooper Energy, for the processing and transfer of gas from a development of the Judith gas field.

The field is located within Emperor Energy’s 100 per cent owned VIC/P47 exploration permit, 40km offshore to the south of the Orbost gas processing plant.

In July 2022, Cooper Energy acquired the Orbost gas processing plant from APA Group.

During 2020, when APA Group had owned the Orbost processing plant, APA Group and Emperor Energy had completed a pre-feasibility study on the gas infrastructure and production field facility requirements to establish a sales gas capacity of 80TJ per day, from the Judith gas field through a potential new plant located near the Orbost processing plant.

Now, under this current extension of the MOU, Emperor and Cooper will continue further discussions for the potential development of the Judith gas field via the Orbost gas processing plant and adjacent sites.
