Omnidian has strengthened its presence in the Australian solar market with the acquisition of Brisbane-based Solar Service Guys, one of the country’s largest providers of system lifecycle services for residential and commercial investors.
The move marks a key step in Omnidian’s international expansion, as the US-based renewable energy asset management company extends its performance assurance and service network to Australia – the world’s leading solar market per capita.
According to Omnidian, Solar Service Guys will operate as a fully integrated subsidiary under the company’s Australian arm, combining local expertise with Omnidian’s advanced machine learning and AI-enabled analytics.
The integration is expected to enhance service capabilities, streamline support, and improve performance monitoring for customers.
Omnidian CEO Mark Liffmann said the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term vision of scaling its global operations.
“This acquisition marks a major milestone in our international growth and our commitment to investing in the Australian market,” he said.
“Together, we will drive innovation, expand opportunities, and deliver best-in-class solar support.”
Solar Service Guys CEO Peter Matthews welcomed the partnership, citing the opportunity to leverage Omnidian’s global resources while maintaining strong local operations.
“By integrating our knowledge of the Australian market and our nationwide service platform with Omnidian’s global reach and innovative technology – trained on over 380,000 asset years of data – we will create a powerful platform that benefits our existing clients and drives new growth opportunities,” Matthews said.
Omnidian has confirmed that David Pethick, General Manager of Omnidian Australia, will step into the role of President of the combined Australian entity.
