Smarter signal marshalling with Weidmüller W2C/W2T terminal blocks

Change is always a factor in the world of process automation. Commissioning delays, last-minute design tweaks, and unexpected scope adjustments can quickly turn neat wiring diagrams into costly headaches. Fortunately there’s a solution, Weidmuller’s Klippon Connect W2C and W2T terminal blocks range. These terminal blocks deliver flexibility, reliability, and efficiency for modern DCS marshalling.

Built for flexibility

The W2C (single-level) and W2T (multi-level) blocks are designed to support all the common functions engineers need including feed-through, disconnect, fuse, and PE. The multi-level W2T versions even combine functions, such as feed-through with fuse, or feed-through with disconnect, in a single compact footprint. And when specifications shift late in a project, you can change function on disconnect and fuse blocks by simply reversing or replacing the functional element while wiring remains intact.

Smarter testing

Commissioning and loop checks are faster and safer thanks to integrated test taps at every connection point. Technicians can insert standard probes without disturbing field wiring, and in the case of fuse terminals, measurements can be made before and after the fuse in both open and closed positions. This reduces downtime and ensures consistent, repeatable diagnostics.

Shielding & performance

Signal integrity is protected with flexible shielding options. Engineers can choose to connect shields directly to protective earth (PE) via the DIN rail or to a potential-free busbar, reducing the risk of ground loops in sensitive instrumentation circuits. On top of that, the W2C/W2T fuse versions feature low leakage current, no more than 500 µA at nominal voltage in BFI circuits, helping to maintain reliable signal transmission.

Ready for the digital workflow

With full support in the Weidmüller Configurator (WMC), engineers can plan, design, and validate their panel layouts digitally before a single wire is cut. This integration speeds up project delivery and reduces the risk of errors.

In short, the W2C and W2T terminal blocks are more than just connection points, they are smart marshalling tools built for the realities of process automation. When projects change, your wiring doesn’t have to.
