Strike Energy has been granted a production licence for its West Erregulla gas field located in the north Perth Basin.
The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry, Regulation and Safety granted the licence for the West Erregulla gas field, which has an estimated gross 452 petajoules (PJ) of 2P Reserves plus 2C and Contingent Resources.
“Receiving production licence L25 further derisks the path for the development of the West Erregulla gas field,” Strike Energy managing director Stuart Nicholls said.
“West Erregulla, Strike’s flagship asset, will be a timely and major source of new gas in WA, which will produce well into the 2040s.”
Strike Energy acts as operator and holds 50 per cent working interest in the EP469 joint venture, while partner Warrego Energy holds the remaining 50 per cent.
Both companies are working towards a final investment decision later this year with Australian Gas Infrastructure Group as the midstream partner.
“Strike has now delivered primary environmental approvals and production tenure across three of the four gas fields that make up its gas acceleration strategy,” Nicholls said.
