Successful appraisals for Strike and Vintage

Vintage Strike

Vintage Energy and Strike Energy have achieved successful well appraisals at their respective Odin and Walyering fields.

In the Cooper Basin, Vintage Energy has confirmed the Odin-2 appraisal well is to be cased and suspended as a future gas producer.

The well, drilled to appraise the eastern area of the Odin gas field encountered gas pay in the Toolachee, Epsilon and Patchawarra Formations, the primary targets int the well.

“Odin-2 has given us a pleasing result,” Vintage Energy managing director Neil Gibbins said.

“While results are preliminary at this stage, it appears the well has fulfilled our objectives of adding another producer to supplement our gas sales from Odin-1.

“We look forward to completing interpretation and analysis of the results and working with our fellow joint venturers on agreeing and finalising completion and connection.”

In Western Australia, Strike Energy confirmed the Walyering-7 well intersected a high-quality conventional gas accumulation in an additional compartment to the north-east of the Walyering gas field.

A total of 23m of net gas pay with an average porosity of 16 per cent has been measured.

The Walyering-7 well, which remains to be flowed, will be tested through the Walyering gas processing facility once the drilling rig departs.
