Supagas has joined the Royal Flying Doctor Service as a National Community Partner, supporting the delivery of essential healthcare services across regional and remote Australia.
Supagas has announced a new national partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), joining as a National Community Partner to support one of Australia’s most trusted and essential healthcare organisations.
The partnership forms part of Supagas’s new ‘Together We Can’ Community Engagement Program, a structured national program designed to focus Supagas’s community investment where it can make a meaningful and measurable difference.
The program focuses Supagas’s support on three key charity partners – RFDS, Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation and Guide Dogs SA/NT – across rural health, children’s health and independence for people with low vision or blindness.
For Supagas, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to safety, reliability, supporting the regional communities that help keep Australia moving, and helping ensure the people in those communities can access the care they need.
The RFDS provides emergency aeromedical retrieval, primary healthcare and telehealth services to people living, working and travelling across regional, rural and remote Australia. Today, the Flying Doctor operates over 90 aircraft and 23 bases across the country, transporting more than 39,000 patients by air last year and delivering more than 150,000 consultations nationwide.
Supagas Managing Director Erol Arican said the partnership was a natural fit for the business, its people and the communities it supports.
“Supagas has always believed in showing up for customers and communities, especially in parts of Australia where distance can make access to essential services more difficult,” Arican said.
“The Royal Flying Doctor Service plays a critical role in keeping regional and remote communities safe, connected and supported. We are proud to stand alongside RFDS as a National Community Partner and to contribute to the incredible work they do every day.
“Through our Together We Can program, we are putting more structure around how Supagas supports community organisations, so our investment is focused, purposeful and aligned with the values of our business. RFDS is an outstanding example of the kind of organisation we want to support: reliable, essential and deeply connected to the communities it serves.”
Royal Flying Doctor Service Federation Chief Executive Emma Buchanan welcomed Supagas as a National Community Partner:
“We are proud to welcome Supagas as a National Community Partner of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, united by a shared commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of regional and remote Australians. For many Australians, access to healthcare is not close by, and together we are working to ensure people in these communities can access the care they need. Partnerships like this enable us to continue delivering essential services across the country, and as we look ahead to our Centenary in 2028, we remain focused on strengthening the health and resilience of rural and remote communities.”
The Together We Can Community Engagement Program has been developed to focus Supagas’s long-standing community support through a clearer national framework. The program is designed to guide how Supagas partners with community organisations and local initiatives, ensuring support is aligned to the company’s values, business footprint and ability to make a practical difference.
Arican said the program gives Supagas a stronger platform for long-term community engagement.
“Across Australia, our people live and work in the communities we serve,” he said. “Together We Can is about bringing that community spirit together under one clear program, so we can support the right organisations in the right way and make a stronger impact over time.”
As part of the partnership, Supagas and RFDS will work together on awareness, engagement and fundraising opportunities, including activities that allow Supagas employees and customers to learn more about the vital work of the Flying Doctor.
