woma

While some oilfield service and equipment suppliers have withheld investment, WOMA (Australia) Pty Ltd has shown great faith in the industry and its own business capability by undergoing a diversification and product enhancement program to ensure its market relevance in a moving industry.

A new state-of-the-art facility in the Australian Marine Complex, Henderson, Western Australia, leading edge global technologies and local ingenuity and expertise now positions WOMA as a specialist in the provision of design, manufacture, sale, service, support and training of hazardous zone equipment.  With specialist capability in high and ultra high pressure, vacuum, robotic automation and other bespoke design services, WOMA satisfies a specific niche in industry.

WOMA works very closely with Pyroban and Miretti, both specialist explosion protection partners to deliver explosion proof conversions for industrial plant and for a large variety of zones, gas groups and temperature classes. All sources of ignition and heat generation are protected so that the equipment operates safely in potentially flammable atmospheres. Protected units are certified to international standards, principally ATEX and IECex.  Explosion-proof equipment is regularly applied in the oil and gas, petro-chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, defence, mining, material handling and associated industries.

During the complex conversion process, WOMA principally attends to reject fume management, surface temperature, heat dissipation and control, Ex/Exd enclosures for arcing components and Ex electrical componentry.  Conversions are available for Zone 1 / 21, Zone 2 / 22, Group I / IIA / IIB / IIC / IIIA / IIIB / IIIC and temperature classes T1 / T2 / T3 / T4.

WOMA’s latest Zone 2 Group IIA T3 Hazardous Area Rated Ultra High Pressure Pump Unit provides unparalleled performance in the industry realising a faster return on funds employed than any other equivalent performance market offering. Building on WOMA’s excellent oil and gas reputation and experience and adding to the WOMA suite of Offshore Oil Intervention Pumps, this example of WOMA’s bespoke solutions is skid mounted with an acoustic protected DNV offshore rated lifting frame. Powered by a continuous ‘A’ Rated CAT 3406C DITA engine, Miretti protection and AMOT controls, capable of 60°C input temperature, the twin WOMA 190m pumps each produce pressures of up to 3000bar.  Capable of high quality surface preparation, wash-down, tube, pipe and vessel cleaning, concrete and steel cold cutting. Alternative and specific pressure and flow alternatives to suit exacting customer requests are available.

WOMA’s Zone 2 Group IIA T3 Hazardous Area Rated Vacuum Unit is housed in a DNV certified lifting frame ensuring its portability on to any fixed, floating or other oil and gas facility.  Capable of high suction retrieval capacity, it performs a critical role in the encapsulation of product; examples include storage tank sludges and muds to removed coatings, rusts and oils.  The efficient capture of these products enables responsible and appropriate disposal management.

In addition to high pressure and vacuum units, WOMA produce significant offerings for oil and gas including hydraulic power packs, compressors and generators for fabric maintenance, intervention, injection, cold cutting and the extraction and encapsulation of hydrocarbons, catalyst and other difficult to handle products.

WOMA’s relationship with and understanding of explosion proof technologies ensures that they can truly value-add their client’s operations. That ability to produce explosion proof equipment is something WOMA have really specialised in and coupled with the provision of top quality service has certainly impressed its clients.
