Woodside is proposing to conduct a series of geophysical and geotechnical surveys to support future development activities across a range of its offshore assets in WA.
In particular, survey results are expected to inform Goodwyn A infill development, plug and abandonment activities at various wells and future exploration activities for greenhouse gas and petroleum activities.
The survey program is proposed to be located adjacent to Woodside’s GWA platform and North Rankin complex, approximately 32km from the nearest shoreline (Montebello Islands) and approximately 123km to Dampier on mainland WA. At least two project vessels will be required to complete the activities associated with the program. One that is capable of conducting geophysical surveys (such as a multi-purpose project survey vessel) and one to undertake geotechnical surveys (such as a geotechnical drilling vessel).
There may also be times where a smaller geotechnical survey vessel is required to undertake surveys along proposed pipeline routes. The survey program is expected to commence from early 2026 and forecast to take 18 weeks.
