ASX-listed engineering services provider WorleyParsons has secured two high-profile oil and gas contracts; a general engineering services contract with Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF) and a contract extension with Maersk Oil UK.
YASREF, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sinopec, owns a 5.2 million square metre, full-conversion refinery in the Yanbu Industrial City in Saudi Arabia, to which WorleyParsons will deliver engineering and consultancy services in order to optimise YASREF’s production.
The contract will span three years, with the possibility of a further extension of three years.
Andrew Wood, chief executive officer of WorleyParsons, said he was pleased to be awarded the contract by YASREF, which will be led from WorleyParsons’ offices in Saudi Arabia.
Maersk Oil, recently purchased by France’s Total group, also chose to extend its current contract in the UK with WorleyParsons by two years starting from September 2018 (with the option of three further one-year terms).
WorleyParsons will continue to provide project and technical support to Maersk Oil regarding its offshore North Sea assets from an office in Aberdeen, Scotland.
“We are delighted to see our collaborative working relationship with Maersk Oil UK continuing and we look forward to enhancing the efficiency and predictability of their offshore North Sea assets,” said Wood.
